Altos Del Mar - Ocean Front Homes - 77th St - 79th St Collins Ave -- Map >> Contact >> One of the City of Miami Beach's officially designated historic districts, tree-lined Altos Del Mar once included numerous large homes along the ocean from 76th Street to 87th Terrace, many of which were demolished in an effort to expand North Shore Open Space Park southward. The remaining homeowners refused to sell to the State, forcing it to drop park expansion plans. Now confined to the area between 77th and 79th Streets and consisting of seven homes, this unique area is the only remaining oceanfront single-family home neighborhood in the City.
Eleven more parcels (seven vacant lots and four unused homes) are in the process of being redeveloped. Sample renderings of those homes are availble on this site.
