Located on the bay between Downtown and Miami Beach, this island's unique location gives both residents and tourist a great location to enjoy cultural activities and area attractions. The island is home to Parrot Jungle, Miami Yacht Club, and Miami Children’s Museum. Under the development plan it will soon house, the Ichimura Miami-Japan Garden, an aviation center for seaplanes and helicopters, and the Island Gardens development project, that will include hotel rooms, retail shops and full service marina. It will include a public promenade along the bay.
